Well Deserved Rewards

Them: How long you been here?

Me: A while

Them: Ok, text me?

Me: ( Smiles)

Also me: Why would I text...

Consistently is key.

Consistent deeds & boundaries.

Your tribe is your vibe.

Take a second to think about the last good times you had, and remember the faces that were there enjoying them with you.

This person was unavailable for any of my happy moments, they were always too busy to join in for the festivities, and while the person claimed to care for me, I also noticed that I never received an invite to any of their celebratory moments.

Now take a second and think about some difficult times and remember who was there helping you work through it.

Now, this person showed up in an emergency but often commented on how much of their family and the community they were responsible for. They had such a hard life and now if was their responsibility to take of everyone else.

In one of my last encounters with this individual, my mind began to wander as they spoke. Rather than speaking of their current life from a space of humility, grace, or gratitude, it carried the scent and feel of arrogance. It felt as though this person collected these calls for help and used them, like lego blocks to build fictional muscles, that they then used to massage their ego. I decided I did not want to take the chance of my stories/experiences adding to their false strength. I decided that it was better to reward their inconsistency and need their savior syndrome with consistent distance.

Those consistent faces are major players, the co-stars in this experience you call life. Reward them with a renewed contract that includes news-times new adventures...

Now those others, that only drop by to celebrate, or only drop by to hear you talk about your hard times...reward them with a brand new locked door🔒

Why should they have unlimited access when their inconsistencies show they can’t even show up. Giving them a key/ access to your life is a waste.
