🌺You are apart of the whole even though you came here alone
🌺You have something to offer that will better the whole
🌺Be courageous enough to offer it, I’m pretty sure we need it.
Him: Did we go to Morgan(State University) together?
Me:😂...No, I was your middle school teacher.
Several years ago I decided to stop aging, and I began teaching at a very young age so, at this point, situations like this are common for me. My more than twenty years of time in the field of education includes me serving in many positions, and while I love the classroom, I also love curriculum writing
I believe the curriculums and lessons I create help to facilitate the development of productive global citizens, or at least that what I use to get myself out of bed in the morning.
I truly believe being a good educator is a calling. And this calling doesn’t include perfection as a superpower. There is no short way for me to explain the sleepless night that comes from worrying about my students and the tears of joy that come as I see their success.
My former pre-school students are now in college at places @morganstateu and @howard1867
My former middle school students are now Masters degree-holding teachers themselves with their own families.
I believe the curriculums and lessons I create help to facilitate the development of productive global citizens. I consider myself a lifetime learner and whose professional development is always in process. The times are changing and I believe education must change also. I'm currently reading " Dance Pedagogy for Diverse World" and while all of my courses are not movement-based dance continues to be my lens and platform. I used to dance, an aspect of culture to teach others about cultures different from their own.
